Labor Day

Logan and Kody were beyond excited for a 3 day weekend and a break from their early schedule. Kody kept trying convince me to take them to Disneyland. Since that was not a possible last minute plan we tried to plan some other fun things. Kody informed me that it was the worst Labor Day holiday weekend he had ever heard of! :) Granted, it was nothing compared to a weekend in Disneyland , but by the end I think everyone (including Kody) had fun! A few of the highlights....

Saturday morning we went to Krispy Kreme Doughnuts and watch them make doughnuts ( I know I am horrible, I have never taken my kids in to see!)

We hung out at my Mom and Dad's. Carrie, Jonathan, and Sophia were here from Idaho!

We also headed out to a park across town that we had never been to!

(Love You Carrie!)

First Day of School 2011

The first day this year was C.R.A.Z.Y. They change our school's start time to 7:50am. Everyone was a little tired but we not only survived, but we made it ON TIME! :)

Logan 4th Grade:

Logan is so excited to be a big 4th grader! It makes Mom a little sad, he's just that much closer to being out of Elementary school! Logan's teacher from last year, Mrs. Pietranton, was moved up to the 4th grade and Logan is lucky enough to have her again! He was SO excited when he opened his envelope and saw that she was going to be his teacher again!

Kody 2nd Grade:

Kody was really nervous this year! After Logan found out he had his same teacher Kody got really excited and said that he hoped that he would have Mrs. Elmore again (Kody LOVED Mrs. Elmore. I think he might have had a little crush on her...) He kept asking if I could home-school him! Once he met Mrs. Mortimer he calmed down a little bit. She seems super nice and so far he is loving her! :)

Our house seem super quiet without the boys home all day! Lucie thinks that we should have girl's days and "girl parties" every day! :)

Kaylee's 2nd Birthday

I have said this many times over the past week, but seriously I can not believe that my baby has turned 2! These past 2 years seem to have gone by SO fast! While it makes me sad that Kaylee (and all of my children) seem to be growing up WAY too fast. I also LOVE this stage.. So far none of my children have hit the "terrible twos" (now three's is a completely different story!). I love how you can almost see their little minds thinking and working things out.

Some things I love about Kaylee.

* I love how Kaylee adds many new words to her vocabulary everyday. I especially love when she uses "big words" like actually and delicious.
* I love how she taps her pointer finger on her lips while thinking and says "hmmm".
* I love how she still thinks I am wonderful! (We all need a little self-esteem boost now and then right?)
*Kaylee has the funniest personality, she has so many "faces" it would take forever to name them all.
*She LOVES her brothers and sister, she especially LOVES Lucie and is devastated when Lucie leaves for preschool/playgroup once a week.
*Jared taught Kaylee to dance, it is the funniest thing ever, someday I will get it on camera.
Obviously I could go on and on but I will stop boring you.

Happy Birthday Kaylee! We love you so much!

First Day of School!

Monday was Logan and Kody's first day of school! Summer went by WAY too fast! Both of their teachers seem REALLY nice! I am hoping this is the start of an AWESOME school year! Lucie was so excited when she found out Kody would be at school ALL day, when I asked her why she was so excited she said, "Because now we can watch girl shows ALL DAY LONG!"

My computer is being dumb so I'll have to add more pictures later!

Elder MacKay!

My brother Owen was called as a missionary for our church! He is serving in the Texas, San Antonio Mission! It was really hard to see him go, but he is doing so well and loving it!!!!

After Owen was set apart, just before leaving for the MTC!

Logan and Kody have both said that they can't wait to be missionaries like Uncle Owen. Thanks for being such a great example to my boys Owen! We love you!

Logan's Baptism

Logan was baptized May 1, 2010! He has been waiting, and waiting to turn 8. Last year he asked if he could skip being 7 and just turn 8! We are so greatful for our awesome families, most traveled SO far to be with Logan on his special day! I wish I would have gotten more pictures of the whole weekend!

Kaylee

Kaylee turned 7 months on Monday!
I can't believe how fast time how flown by since she joined our family!

Here are some fun "facts" about Kaylee!
~She is usually a VERY happy baby...as long as someone is paying attention (playing, holding, or talking) to her.

~She almost always "goes with the flow" she's happy just about anywhere...in her car seat, stroller, ect.

~She L.O.V.E.S. men and teenage boys. Owen and Tanner can get the biggest smiles from her! A few weeks ago I had to leave during the sacrament because she kept squealing at the boys passing the sacrament. If they walked passed and didn't look at her she would squeal louder to try and get their attention!

~She loves her brothers and sister. She loves it when the try to pick her up and hold her...it scares mom but she thinks it's great!

~She can sit up on her own. Once sitting up she gets SO excited and starts flapping her arms all over the place and falls over. It's a vicious cycle, but she thinks it is so much fun!

~She makes the funniest faces.
(Sorry Lucie, this is not the best picture of you!! You just woke up!)

~She is crawling all over the place....

...She follows me everywhere I go. Once she finds the room I am in, I hear her happy squeals and turn around to see Kaylee smiling very proudly at me!!!

~She LOVES ice cream! If she sees you with a bowl and spoon there is no stopping her! She will attack you until you give in and share with her. And yes she really attacks...grabs your bowl, grabs your spoon, grabs your face, hits your face, claws your eyes...whatever it takes!

~She sucks her index and middle fingers when she is tired. I know it will be a pain to break her of this habit, but it is just too cute!

Best of all....she puts herself to sleep! I feed her, give her a kiss, and lay her in her bed. She smiles at me, puts her fingers in her mouth, and closes her eyes. She then sleeps ALL night (last night she slept for 10 hours!)!

Rainy Day

Back in September it rained...not for very long...not very exciting. Lucie however thought it was WONDERFUL!!!! She kept asking if Mom and Kaylee and Lucie (she says Sue cee) could play in the rain. I gave in both girls (and Mom) had a great time!
Lucie is always ready for any kind of adventure! She is always looking for and thinking up fun things to do! Life would be SO boring without Lucie around! :)

It doesn't look like it here...but Kaylee thought it was SO fun to chase Lucie in the rain!

I Am A HORRIBLE Mother (and blogger)!

If you don't want to read my ramblings scroll down to see more new posts!

There are 2 very good reasons I have gotten so behind on my blog:
The first...After "catching" up on all of our summer activities I of course blogged about the first day of school, the following week I went to blog about a very important event (coming soon!) and realized that I had forgotten to post Kody's 5th birthday. My first thought was to "edit" my post and no one would ever know. Then I remembered some conversations that Logan and I have been having. I have been trying to teach him that EVERYONE makes mistakes even Mom's and Dad's, we need to acknowledge that we have made a mistake, and then fix the mistake. With my own words ringing in my mind I realized that even though Logan (and Kody) do not read this blog, I still need to acknowledge and fix my mistake.
The second....while getting ready to blog about the "important event" (which I have made to sound like it is huge when really it's not all that big of a deal) I started thinking about all of the personal information I share about my family. So, to make a long story short, I have been trying to decided if I should go private with our blog. What is keeping me from going private you ask? I am secretly a blog stalker....there are many blogs I have found of past friends (and acquaintances...I can't believe I just admitted that) through "blog hopping". I enjoy reading them and would be devastated if they went private since I do not have the guts to tell them that I am reading their blog. :) What if I have loads of secret fans that wait, checking my blog everyday for my next exciting and informative post? Then I got scared at the thought of a bunch of crazies looking at my kids ....I know, the only crazy here is me!

July 2, 2009 Kody's 5th Birthday!

Kody I am SO sorry I forgot to add your birthday to the list of exciting events this summer! Happy Birthday! I hope you had an AWESOME day!
If you ask him...his favorite part of his birthday???? Going to lunch at Wild Buffalo Wings with his Uncle Owen! Thanks Owen!!!! :)

Hayes Hero!!!!

Kody was chosen to be the first Hayes Hero of his class!
Kody was SO excited to bring his poster and show and tell item to class on Monday!
Great Job! We are SO proud of you!
Keep up the good work!

Let's Go Fly A Kite....

One of the "perks" of being a Hayes Hero in Kody's class is getting to pick out of the treasure box. Kody picked out an Iron Man kite (which ended up being 2 Iron Man kites). Since it was Monday and it also happened to be windy we decided to take the kids to a nearby park a fly Kody's kites. We had so much fun! Now every time we have a windy (or breezy day Logan and Kody ask if we can go to the park and fly the kites again!)

Back to School!

Logan and Kody were SO excited for the first day of school!
I can't believe how fast my kids are growing up!

Logan 2nd Grade 2009-2010

Kody Kindergarten 2009-2010

Lucie didn't want to be left out!

In front of the school!

May to August (I told you I was behind!)

I can't believe the summer is already over! We had such a blast! The flash on our camera broke in June so the only pictures I could take were outside, and by the end of the summer I just flat out forgot it. Oh well!

Cub Scout Day Hike
On May 30th Jared helped take the cub scouts on a day hike, Logan DESPERATELY wants to go to scouts, so Jared caved and took him along on the hike. Logan was SOOO excited, I don't think he slept much the night before! :)

Water Day
The last week of school the first graders had a "Water Day/Camp Out". Logan thought that they were really going camping. It took quite a while, but I finally convinced him that they were only "camping" for the school day. They sang camp songs, earned merit badges, played water games, ate hot dogs, cooked on the grill, and made S'mores (in the microwave). He had so much fun!

Jeremy and Brittany's Wedding
The first weekend in June, Jared's younger brother Jeremy got married! Jeremy and Brittany asked Logan to be the Ring Bearer. Logan took his job SO seriously! I have NEVER seen him stand so still for so long! We all had a great time visiting with family! Welcome to the family Brittany! We love you tons!!!!

Owen's Graduation
The following Monday Owen graduated from Spring Valley High School! Congratulations Owen! We are so proud of you! Thanks for being such an awesome example! Go Grizzlies!!!! :)

Curtis Rex Reunion
Just 2 days after Owen's graduation we headed back up to Wyoming for a Curtis Rex Reunion! Mashelle and Jimmy planned a FUN weekend! Our kids keep asking when we are going to go fishing and bowling with their cousin's again! This is also the weekend our camera broke, so I only have pictures of fishing!

And so the rest of the summer is not forgotten:

Jared & I celebrated our 8th wedding anniversary! Love Ya!

Celebrated Jared's Grandpa and Grandma Welling's 60th wedding anniversary!

Had an awesome Brent MacKay family Reunion!

Threw my sister Carrie a baby shower!

Attended a FUN Robert Raymond Rex Reuion! (Kody cried when it was time to leave! He has so much fun with ihis cousins!)

And TONS more! Hope you all also had an awesome summer!!!
