I am so behind on my blog (and everything else) so I decided to do NOTHING!!!! :)

Yes it has been not only "one of those days", it has been "one of those months". I am tired of washing the SAME clothes, picking up the SAME toys, making the SAME beds, what we watch on TV is even the same. Logan has decided that he wants to be a weather man for "Fox 5 News" when he grows up (I know random). So we have been forced to watch the fox weather channel over and over again, he says he needs to study for weather college :) (for those of you who have not been lucky enough to watch, it plays the same weather forecast with the same comercials ALL DAY long). I feel like I am stuck in the movie Ground Hog Day. Jared thinks it's sounds like fun and that I need to find the humor in my days so, I am taking his advice. My funny conversation of the day:

Kody: MOM!
Me: What Kody.
Kody: MOM! WHERE ARE YOU?!
Me: I ran away. (actually I was sitting at the computer)
Kody: No you didn't you're right there.
Me: I'm not Mom, Mom ran away.
Kody: Are you a Transformer alien?
Me: Yes.
Kody: No you're not.
Me: Are you sure?
***Kody now stares at my face for what seemed like forever****
Kody: You are an alien!!!!
Me: How could you tell?
Kody: Your eyes are blue, everyone else's are brown!

Have a wonderful day! :)

How did I ever live without you????

I would like to introduce you to the newest LOVE of my life:

The Sit and Stand Stroller.

How I have gone almost 5 years with out one I will never know. I wish I would have bought one sooner! Jared tried to get me to buy it when Kody was about a year old and I thought they looked kind of cheesey, oh how I wish I would have listened to him! :)

Lucie loves it, she can get on and off by herself (BIG plus for Miss Independent) She can sit down or stand up on the back!

I LOVE it!

Kaylee loves it! While in her infant seat she can look at me...which is the best view anyway right? ;)

I LOVE it!

Logan and Kody love it! They have decided to take turns standing on the back while Lucie sits.

Did I mention I LOVE it? Oh how much easier it has already made my life in the 2 short days we have had it!

Don't make the same mistake, if you have two little kids (or more), go out and buy it right now! The best part? Almost any infant seat latches into the front!

Sisters

Lucie just can't get enough of Kaylee. She is always right in Kaylee's face talking or singing to her. Kaylee LOVES it! She will "talk" to Lucie and try to sing along. This video is from this morning right after we took Logan to school! Lucie's song is a combination of one she made up (she does that quite often) and "Slippery Fish".

Huntington Beach

Warning... this is kind of long!!!!

Monday we met my parents in Huntington Beach. Logan and Kody were SO excited to play in the ocean. Logan asked if we thought there would be killer whales for him to ride on. :) Everyone had a blast!

Some Highlights:

Logan headed straight for the water. He kept shivering from the cold, but refused to get out! He also thought that he was one of the "big" boys!

Kody was SO excited to dig a big hole with Jared...he worked so hard! I think he was a little disappointed to find that Owen and his friends had buried themselves in it. He later decided it was ok when he saw the pictures and decided they looked really funny!

Kody fell sound asleep on the beach...too cute!

Lucie had a HUGE smile on her face the whole day!

When the water would touch her feet she would pick them up like the water was hot (or cold)!

You can click on the picture to make it bigger!

The Ride Home:

Everyone zonked out before we got to the freeway...except for Kody!

I was a little worried when Jared said he wanted to take this trip! I kept thinking "Seriously? Four little kids (one being a newborn) huge crowds, long lines! You've got to be insane!" Boy was I wrong! We had so much fun!I am so glad he talked me into it!!!! I can't wait for our next vacation! :)

Hanna...this is for you!

San Diego Zoo

Sunday morning we headed over to the San Diego Zoo. I can not believe how big it is! Kody and Lucie LOVED all of the animals! Lucie asked if she could have a baby Koala "just for Wucie". Logan kept trying (and a few times succeeded) to climb over the railings. I don't know if he was trying to get a closer look or if he was a tad bored...probably a little of both. We finally realized that Logan would stay off the railings if he could take pictures of the animals...so we have a ton of pictures of just animals...but what ever works right? We decided to rent a stroller at the zoo since we did have one at Sea World and my arms were killing me! The strollers we different and Kaylee couldn't sit in them. So Logan, Kody, and Lucie took turns in the stroller and Kody and Lucie took turns riding on Jared's shoulders.

Kaylee was awesome, she was a tad fussier but it was windy (which she hates) so she ended up being covered by a blanket most of the day...

What a FUN day at the zoo!

Coming tomorrow...Huntington Beach!

Sea World

I know, it's pretty sad, but Jared and I have never planned a real, just our family, family vacation. We have visited family, and been on vacations with our extended families, but never just us. The summer weekends seem to fill up by February so we decided to start our summer a little early this year! We braved the crowds (which weren't really that bad) and went to San Diego! We have soooo many pictures, so I thought instead of a major picture overload, I'd share just a few!

We left about 5am Saturday morning and went straight to Sea World, the kids LOVED it! Logan wants to swim with the whales when he gets bigger (which is HUGE considering his fear of almost ALL animals!)

Kaylee was such a trooper, she had a few fussy moments, but not very many! Sadly Kaylee and I were behind the camera so we didn't make it into very many pictures... We didn't even get a picture of all of us together! Oh well, I guess that means we'll have to go again soon!

Here is one of my favorites: It is Lucie and Jared watching the fireworks after the Shamu Night Show! They were all in awe all day! So much fun!!!! (and yes Lucie's hair does look a little funky...her hair thing broke and I didn't pack any extra's in the diaper bag... so poor Lucie walked around Sea World that evening with one pig tail! Now I'm wondering why I didn't just take the other one out...ooops!)

Coming Tommorrow...San Diego Zoo!

Logan's Birthday

April 24th was Logan's 7th birthday! Where has the time gone? I can't believe that my little boy is getting so old!

Logan was so excited for his birthday! I woke him up early and Owen came and took him to Denny's for a surprise birthday breakfast! Logan was SOOOO excited to go out with just him and Owen (Logan wants to do everything my brothers do, he will hear a youth dance announced at church and say "I'm going with Owen and his friends to the dance." or "I am going to do _____ just like Tanner!").

Logan has been asking me all year to come and eat lunch with him at school...so I brought him Subway (one of his favorites) and cupcakes for his class. I also got to play with him at recess! :)

That evening we headed to Olive Garden, the kids thought it was wonderful!

After dinner the waitresses sang Happy Birthday to Logan, the whole restaurant clapped along...he was VERY surprised, and embarrassed, the look on his face was priceless! On the way home he told us that it was "SO cool".

"Where's the exit?"

We got home and opened presents and sang to him again!

Happy Birthday Logan!

Happy Easter

Happy Easter!
So it was my intent just to post one picture of my kids looking so cute in their Easter clothes and leaving it at that...Happy Easter! Kody was mad we were taking his picture, he said that taking pictures made it THE worst Easter day of his life! (Yes he is a tad dramatic). So anyway, here is my attempt at a "cute" Easter picture of my kids. It's OK maybe someday I look back at these pictures and be glad, their not too posed and that I capture their personalities on camera...:)

Notice Lucie's arm around Kody :)

Logan: "Smile Kody" Kody: "I don't want to!"

Try not to look too mad Kody! :)

Logan doing his signature pose (he does that EVERY time someone tries to take a picture...Lucie thought she might try it as well...

Happy Birthday Lucie!!!

Happy Birthday Lucie!

Friday (April 3rd) was Lucie's 2nd Birthday! She was so excited! When I asked her what she wanted for her birthday she would say, "A pink cake. A pink cake with princesses!" She fell asleep on the rocking chair waiting for everyone to get here. My Mom, Dad, Tanner, Adelaide, and Hanna and Ella came over for dinner, Lucie would tell everyone "It's Wucie's birthday!" with a big cheesy smile on her face! When it was time to blow out the candles she started blowing when the cake was still halfway across the room. It was too cute!

Later after the party was over we had everyone ready for bed, Jared and I were saying goodnight to Logan and Kody when I realized Lucie was not upstairs. I called for her and heard her little voice coming from down stairs, "I getting Dad's phone!" I waited a few minutes and called for her again, "I not eating cake Mom!" So down the stairs I went to find her with a HUGE smile on her face and cake ALL over her, the chair, the table, the counter, and the floor. She looked at me and said "It's good pink cake Mom!"

Happy Birthday Lucie! We love you so much!

2 Weeks (a day late!)

Kaylee is 2 weeks old!

Sometimes it feels like she couldn't already be 2 weeks old, and other times it seems like she has always been a part of our family! She is such a good baby...she hardly ever cries! I can't believe how much Kaylee has already changed, she still has a different look from the rest of our kids, I'm anxious to see what she will look like in a few more weeks. She has the funniest facial expressions and scowls while she's sleeping.

Lucie ADORES her, I have to watch and make sure Lucie isn't loving her too much! Logan could hold her all day, the first thing he asks when he wakes up in the morning is "Can I hold Kaylee before I go to school?". Kody has not been interested in her at all until the past 2 days, I'm glad he has started to acknowledge she's here...I was starting to worry! Kody has been overly protective of Lucie, it's been pretty cute.

Star of the Week

Logan came home from school VERY excited on Friday! He was chosen to be his class's "Star of the Week". He brought home a poster that he decorated all about himself. His teacher will hang it up in their classroom for the whole week and on Friday he will get to bring in something for "show and tell". He has been waiting all year to be chosen! He was so excited to go to school this morning!

All weekend he kept collecting things for his poster, like Go Gurt wrappers "Because they're my favorite snack" and pictures of Jeeps cut out of Grandpa's Jeep magazines because "I love my Grandpa's Jeep!". I had a hard time convincing him that he couldn't put EVERYTHING on his poster, just a few special things!

Obessed? Not Kody...

Remember when I talk about Kody's Transformer obsession in the last post? Well, this is what I found a few nights ago when I went to check on him before I went to bed...

I found the Transformers hidden under the blankets...I was tempted to move them, I was worried it would wake him up if he rolled over onto them, but I didn't...it was a good thing too, the next morning Kody woke up very excited and told me "My Transformers stayed with me the whole night and didn't transform once...that would have woken me up!" Kids are too funny!

Lucie's Big Girl Bed

Jared found a toddler bed that had fallen off of some one's truck on the freeway. He brought it home to fix it. I was a little worried about how it would turn out. It looks great and the kids were all so excited that they got to help "make" Lucie's bed!

My grandma also came down a few weeks ago and helped us make a quilt for Lucie's bed that would match the crib bedding...it turned out so cute, and you can't even tell that it wasn't bought with the rest of the bedding! Lucie sat right next to my grandma while she sewed and kept telling her "Thank you Grandma, thank you! A blanket for Lucie's bed!" I wish I would have taken pictures of Lucie & my grandma sitting there next to each other...it was too cute!

She LOVES her bed and will now go to bed in "Wucie's Big Girl Bed" by herself! I have found her looking at stories and holding her babies on her bed!

Updates

"Sleeping" on the top bunk!

Since it has been so long since we have last posted I thought I'd give a quick update on everyone!

Logan can hardly wait until his birthday in April. He is SO excited to be 7, mostly because it is one year away from being 8. He REALLY wants to be baptized and we also told him that when he turned 8 he could start going hunting with Jared. He has asked me a few time if he can turn 8 on his birthday instead of 7. :) He doesn't particularly like school, but we are starting to see an improvement, he has moved up 3 reading levels since the start of the school year...he still isn't where he should be, but we are so proud of how hard he is trying! He LOVES the days when he gets to go to PE and will tell you that PE and Lunch are his favorite parts of school!

Kody is so excited to start school in the fall, he asks me almost everyday if he is ever going to get to go to school like Logan. Kody is such a good big brother to Lucie, he is always watching out for her and playing with her. Kody loves going to primary, he will talk all week about the lessons and what he learned at church. Kody also LOVES Transformers, loves might be an understatement, obsessed is probably a more appropriate word, he knows all of the Transformers by name and can tell you if they are an Auto bot (good guy) or a Dedepticon (bad guy). Most of our conversations during the day somehow turn to the topic of Transformers like, "Mom, do you think Bumblebee had a big brother?" or "Do you think that Optomis Prime has to clean his bedroom?".

Lucie making dinner...she said she was making "A suprise, oranges suprise".

Lucie thinks she is such a big girl. She wants to help me with whatever I am doing. She LOVES shoes, bows, lotions, make up (pretty much anything girly), and having her hair done, if we leave the house without doing her hair she will cry and touch her hair saying "My hair, my hair". She LOVES the color pink and is sure to point out to you anything that is pink (and try to convince you to buy it just because it is pink), with all of the Valentines Day stuff out it has made for quite eventful trips to the store! Kody has nicknamed her "Princess Pink". She loves her brothers and wants to do everything they are doing...she hates it when Jared takes the boys to do something with out her, so this past weekend Jared took all of the kids to look around at the Sportsman's Warehouse, Lucie convinced him to buy her a pink and blue fishing pole. :) Lucie also loves to sing, she can hardly wait for singing time in Nursery, she will sing all the words and do the hand motions to all of the songs. Logan and Kody have taught her to hum the Indiana Jones theme song. It's pretty cute.

We are all getting excited for our new baby to come...time has gone by too quickly, there is so much that I wanted to get done before she comes, but with only about 3 weeks left I don't think it's all going to happen. Oh, well!

Snow Day and Some Fun LV Snow Facts!

Yes you read that correctly, a Snow Day! Crazy is the only word I can think of to describe it! I have never seen this much snow in Las Vegas! It started snowing here at our house around 11:30am and snowed the whole day...turning into rain around 5:30pm. There is still snow on the ground in our backyard! I tried to get the kids to go out and play in it...but they said it was too cold. :) Around 6pm they decided that they wanted to build a snowman but it had started to rain and they didn't want to get wet! Since Logan is home from school again, (yesterday there was no school for parent teacher conferences) we have looked up some Las Vegas winter/snow facts. Enjoy!

*McCarran Airport is the official recording station for weather in the LV Valley. Yesterday they recorded 3.6 inches of snow, setting the record for the most snow ever in December since the beginning of official records in 1937! (Henderson reported 8plus inches of snow!)

*Measurable snow has only fallen in December 4 other times since 1937!
2 inches on 12-15-67
0.4 inches on 12-5-72
1 inch on 12-6-98
1.3 inches 12-30-03

*Wondering why flights were canceled in and out of LV? Yes, because of weather conditions and poor visibility, but McCarran Airport does not have any snow removal equipment!

*This is the first snow day for Clark County students since January 1979 when a single storm dropped 9 inches of snow!

Snow Fun!

It was so fun picking Logan up from school, the field was completely covered in snow! When the bell rang kids were squealing and laughing and throwing snow balls at each other, parents were taking pictures. It was just so fun to see all the smiles and happy faces! The best part of all...it was all melted this morning...no shoveling! The mountains all around the valley are covered in snow, it finally feels like winter is here! Kody told me last night, "Santa can finally come to our house because it snowed today!"

Let it Snow!

We woke up this morning to a very cold and overcast day. The news said that we were supposed to wake up to 6-8 inches of snow...we didn't. By the time I took Logan to school it was raining slush, so I figured I should take a picture of my kids in the "snow" before it stopped. As you can tell they were not very happy, Logan kept asking why he had to take a picture in the rain, I told him that it was "snow". (Look at Kody...he is holding his hand out to see if it is really snow. I think they all are thinking that mom had gone bonkers! And no, I did not make Kody wear the Santa hat, they gave it to them at a primary activity day and he has worn it ever since!)

Well, it has been snowing ever since and it is starting to stick! I keep thinking I should run out and take another picture before it stops snowing and starts melting. Maybe we will get a few inches stuck to the ground before the end of the day!!! I sure hope they let the kids play in it at school, or that it sticks/keeps snowing until Logan gets home!

So for all of you who have ever doubted, it does snow here...rarely, but it does! Here is the proof...SNOW in LAS VEGAS! :)
